Mother Teresa spells it out

Posted in Uncategorized on June 24, 2008 by janaycore

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.

If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
Mother Teresa

Happy 26th Birthday to Me!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 18, 2008 by janaycore

So I’ve decided that I will always enjoy my birthdays until the day I die. Yeah, getting old sucks with all the aches and pains and “oh I’m more wrinkly” and stuff but I am happy that I’ve made it through another year without being unexpectedly killed or diagnosed with an incurable disease. I can stand to be ecstatic about that. Plus, I’m a pretty lucky person. I have a great family that mostly does not get on my nerves. Mostly. I have some excellent best best friends (you know who you are) and my boyfriend tells me he loves me everyday. And he mostly doesn’t get on my nerves. Mostly.

Even though I have no income at the moment and have a mountain of belongings in my parents’ garage and I’m living out of a significantly smaller and exponentially more shared space, I am happy in the hope that one day I will have all of my files and other items organized, and (the more realistic dream) live in Tahoe to enjoy the beauty of life in a beautiful place and just live another year. Happy Birthday to me!
